Volunteer Opportunity, ESSEX Architecture Weekend

Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September

Get in touch by Sunday 7 August, midnight

Over Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September 2016, Radical Essex will explore the important history of modernist architecture in the county through talks and events held in Silver End village hall, and a series or bus trips across the county, visiting the outstanding sites in the region, including the University of Essex, Frinton-on-Sea, Bata East Tilbury and the Plotlands. Speakers and commissions include HAT Projects, Owen Hatherley, Charles Holland and Alan Kane.

We are looking for volunteers over the weekend to support the smooth running of events. Tasks will include talks and event registration, directing visitors to buses, traveling on tours, feeding back if transport is running late, serving drinks and ensuring visitors have a great weekend celebrating the architectural history of Essex. This is a great opportunity to get involved and gain experience working with a pioneering contemporary arts organisation,

on an event we are sure will be both exciting and rewarding.

You can learn more about Radical Essex by visiting our website, or following us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @RadicalEssex

We are looking for availability on the 10 and 11 of September, preferably both but if you are only able to commit to one day and are interested to get involved we would still like to hear from you. There will also be an introduction session in late August, date to be confirmed. The positions will predominatly be based in Silver End, but there will be posts and travel needed across Essex.

If you are interested to get involved please be in touch with Hannah Rose Whittle, hannahrosewhittle@southend.gov.uk telling us of your interest in volunteering at this event. We look forward to working with you!
